Here are some common questions people may ask when starting therapy. If you don’t see your question here, feel free to contact me.
-
I specialize in working with children ages 3-12 years old.
-
I work with children experiencing anxiety, trauma, grief, emotional outbursts, behavioral challenges, and difficulty with transitions or regulation.
-
I use evidence based approaches like play therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) with children. I have completed specialized advanced EMDR trainings on how to adapt EMDR techniques with children. I always tailor appropriate appropriate therapy approaches to meet each child’s unique emotional, and developmental needs.
-
Play is a child’s natural and most instinctive language. In play therapy, children use toys, stories, and creativity to express and explore their feelings. This process helps them make sense of their experiences in a way that feels safe, comfortable, and familiar. Through play, they can communicate emotions and work through challenges at their own pace.
-
Yes! EMDR is a evidence based therapy that helps children reprocess overwhelming or traumatic experiences. I adapt EMDR using playful, child-appropriate methods like tapping, movement, or storytelling.

Generally, we will schedule an intake appointment where we will meet to gather information from caregivers and child. We will discuss your concerns for your child and set goals. After initial intake session, I will meet individually with your child in a warm play based therapy room to allow time for me to get to know your child and build rapport.
